Crozet Va Homes

The Crozet Home Specialists
Crozet homes are wonderful for many reasons...and the lifestyle here is very youthful, healthy,
safe and relaxed.
Crozet is located at the base of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in Western Albemarle County
about 20 mins from the city of Charlottesville. The town borders the Shenandoah National Park and offers wonderful
hiking and mountain biking.
There are mountains surrounding the entire valley so everywhere you look you'll see pastoral farms
in Crozet and verdant and blue mountains.
Old Trail is also located in Crozet. Crozet Old Trail is a large multi-use subdivision offering
every amenity including a fabulous public golf course. The ACAC just opened up in Old Trail and offers a fine work
out facility. Western Albemarle High School is across the street and school buses drop the kids off there.

Who buys Crozet homes? Mostly young families who work at the University of Virginia and in downtown
Charlottesville. The commute to Charlottesville is a straight shot and effortless. Interstate 64 goes by Crozet and
offers an on/off ramp for easy access east to Charlottesville, Richmond and west to the Shenandoah Valley.
Albemarle County is only about 70,000 people including UVA students.
While Old Trail is the largest development, there are many other wonderful Crozet new homes to be
found in: Western Ridge, The Highlands, Grayrock, Bargamin Park, Le Parc, Wickham Pond and others...
If you are considering purchasing a Crozet home, then good for you since we feel the Western
Albemarle School District is one of the best in Virginia. The elementary schools are Brownsville & Crozet
Elementary; the middle school is Henley Middle School and then Western Albemarle High School. The Miller School is
a wonderful. historic, private boarding school and is also in Crozet.

Most homes in Crozet are barely 5 years old since the building boom began here in 2005. And these
Crozet new homes were built with the majestic views in mind. Most offer exceptional views of the ancient Blue Ridge
Mountains which are only minutes from town by hike, bike or car.
Crozet is tiny but it is a happening place. The biggest employer is MusicToday which
handles most of the merchandising for many of the rock bands in the world including the Rolling Stones and Dave
Mathews Band (who also live here!!!!).
There are coffee shops and 5 restaurants in this tiny hamlet and one of them is a fine Mexican
cantina owned by Alex Montiel, Mexico's premier chef (formerly of the Boar's Head Inn). There is a public library
which sits in the old train depot and two clean parks. There's also a pool in Claudius Crozet Park that is open in
the summer.
The Crozet Park Pool is a public swimming facility open to all. The pool features an 8-lane, 25
meter outdoor swimming pool with a zero depth entry area. Nearby are numerous soccer fields managed by SOCCA
(Charlottesville's well-run soccer association), little league baseball fields, Mint Springs (a public fishing
lake), mountains for hiking, peach and apple orchards and alas a Dairy Queen...

Crozet, Virginia was named for Claudius Crozet, Napoleon Bonaparte's chief engineer.
When Napoleon was defeated at the battle of Waterloo and sent to Alba, the United States contacted
him and asked if he would like to head up the fledgling Army Corps of Engineers.
The rest is history...Crozet engineered the numerous tunnels through the Blue Ridge and Alleghany
Mountains opening up the Shenandoah and Ohio Valley to new settlements.
Crozet is known for its sweet peaches and tasty apples. The Albemarle Pippin originated here and
was the favorite apple of King George III.
